On resumption of the Premier Cricket season post-Christmas festivities the club featured four sides playing the T20 format with the inaugural T20 Cup beginning for players not selected in Premier or Second Grade. The new competition allows each club 2 teams competing for the title and Toombul (1) hosted games on Ken Mackay Oval.
For Premier and Second grade both teams find themselves mid table both having 2 wins and 4 losses with the coming weekend being the last 2 rounds of the format. A mixture of encouraging and positive cricket along with some underwhelming results won’t see the Bulls compete for silver wear in the shortest format of the game. 2 games left, plenty to prove and serve the lads well for the momentum building charge into the remainder of the season.
The start of the T20 Cup also began on unsure grounds with both our teams starting with a win and a loss. Knowing the Toombul ways, training this week will ensure that tactics are well adjusted, and the Christmas Ham is being put to good use.
Back into the swing of things at the Yard and a great sense of the big charge into the back end of the year with the ‘faithful’ raring to ute around to the multiple finals that we will be playing!
