Errold La Frantz in 2014

The Toombul District Cricket Club is saddened by the passing of distinguished player, administrator, coach, supporter and Life Member, Errold Campbell La Frantz MBE. 

Errold was a stalwart and member of the Toombul District Cricket Club for 83 years, was 95.

A left-handed batsman, Errold played 15 seasons of First Grade for the Club and a solitary match for Queensland in 1941-42 before serving in World War II. He went on to be a State selector and leading figure  in Brisbane Grade and Junior cricket in particular where he helped create the first organised Junior Cricket Association in Queensland, along with fellow Club Life Member Cec Anstey and George Christensen.

He received Life Membership of Toombul DCC in 1958, Queensland Cricket in 1971 and Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association in 2001. At the time of his passing, was the oldest Life Member of Toombul DCC and QC.
His service will be held on Friday at the Lakeview Chapel, Albany Creek Memorial Park, Bridgeman Downs at 11am.

The Club will be represented at the funeral by Executive Committee members and Life Members. 

A tribute to Errold will be held by club members at Oxenham Park this Saturday on La Frantz Oval, more details to follow.
